a- An independent label is a label that is not funded by other organizations like major record labels and most times do not have their own distribution channel in which artist that are signed with “indie labels” often sign distribution deals elsewhere.

3. What programs are out there to make beats?

a- There are a couple some recording software offers features to construct beats like Pro Tools, but some programs that are most used would fall between Fruity Loops and Reason.

4. How much is the average rate of studio time?

a- For a studio with state of the art recording equipment could range from $40-$60 an hour which includes recording and mixing.

5. Where can I go to hear local recording artist?

a- Local venues such as Everlasting Life Cafe, Red Maple, Five Seasons, Bourbon Street, Love the Club, etc.
