Making Music in the DMV
Recent success of recording artist from the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area locally known as the DMV is bringing national attention to the DMV music scene and with that attention comes hope and inspiration. Seeing local recording artist like J.Holiday, Tabi Bonney, Raheem DeVaughn, Mullyman, and Wale on networks like MTV, BET, and VH1 or performing on national tours inspires locals in the DMV to pursue a music career.
Some people may want to be producers and make beats for artist like <<Maryland Producer Young Shaq>>. Shaq is part of a production team aiming to make a name for them not only in the DMV, but nationally. Others may want to be recording artist themselves like <<Towson University student Mike Gazzo>> whose Jersey home grown persona shows in his music.
But still there will be others that would rather look to helping these artists reach their dreams and star power potential by running a record label. <<Mania Music Group label owners Dwayne Lawson and Brandon Lackey>> know all too well what it takes with their artist reaching growing success locally and nationally.
